It was my junior at Oregon State University.
I was living in a Sorority, but not spending many nights there
because I was having sex and spending the night with my boyfriend
on a regular basis.
I had been raised knowing that premarital sex
was wrong, but because I was in love I chose to break this
promise I had made to myself and my parents. I knew that I
wanted to marry my boyfriend, but the decision as to when
we would get married came way too soon when we found out I
was pregnant.
We were shocked! How could this have happened
to us? Neither of us had finished college yet and we were
not ready to be out on our own by any means. But we had a
choice we had to make.
We scheduled an appointment at Options Pregnancy Resource Center and were able to see our baby through
ultrasound. Our little girl was just eleven weeks from conception,
yet we could see her little heart beating inside of me. She
was so small and so perfect. After that day we both knew we
were going to be parents.
We got married and our little girl was born
soon after—she is the most precious gift from God! I
thank God nightly in my prayers for her because, though our
lives are much different now, we are so happy together as
a family.
